BIOGRAPHY

BLANC-GARIN Ernest

Belgian painter - 19th Century
Born on October 8th, 1843 in Givet (Ardennes). France
Died in 1916 in Brussels.

Portrait painter, urban landscapes.
In Brussels he attended classes of Portaëls in 1863, then in Paris, those of Cabanel.
He took part in the art fair of Paris starting from 1868.
During a visit in Italy, he took part in the combat of 1870. the following year, he returned to Brussels, where he opened a very liberal deprived academy.
So some of its urban landscapes are pasted, his portraits are treated with more freedom and grace.
