BIOGRAPHY

HOFLINGER Albert (1855-1936)
German 19th-20th century
Active in France, switzerland and Germany
Born in 1855 in the Black Forest. Died 1936
Hoflinger began his studies with L.A. Kellerborn in Basel.
He then went to Paris in 1877 and studied under Léon Bonnat (1833-1922). After he returned to Basel he continued to go back to Paris every year to work at the Academy Julian. He painted the portrait of J.J. Falkeyser the curator of the Art collection at the museum of Basel.
