VAN GORP Henri Nicolas (ca 1756-1819)

Henri-Nicolas Van Gorp (Paris around 1756 - died after 1819) is a French painter (genre scenes, portraits). He is also painter in watercolours. Pupil of Royal Academy by June 1773, it exhibited at the « salon de Paris » starting from 1795 and until 1819. He is particularly appreciated as portraitist . His genre scenes paintings were often reproduced in engraving.
