Born on July 27th, 1870 in Golta (Russia) or Golovanievsk (Bohemia) Dead on March 21st, 1949 in Mans (the Sarthe)

Painter of lively landscapes, urban landscapes, painter in watercolours, engraver.

He follows courses of the evening to the school of painting of Kiev, then attends the school of the fine arts of Odessa and became in 1891 pupil a the Academy Julian in Paris.
Conquered by Collioure in 1902, he often returned there as in Bormes- the-Mimosas where he settles from1910 to 1915. He founded in 1934 the museum of Collioure. In 1895 he exposes for the first time in Paris at the salon de la société nationale then at the salon of the Independent ones. He appears also regularly iat the salon d’automne, salon des tuileries, salon of the painters engravers. Present at the manifestations of Nabis organized by the park of Boutteville, he had in 1901 his first particular exhibition at the “revue blanche” then in 1923 at the Gallery Durand-Ruel in Paris and New York. The Salon of independent will present in 1950 a retrospective Exposure of its works. He bound friendship with Sérusier, Toulouse-Lautrec who taught him subtleties from the lithography, and with Pissaro which initiated him with the etching. He was also the friend of Guillaume Apollinaire. Near to the impressionists for his use of the clear colors and the choice of the subjects, Peské was an eclectic artist but always in welcome styles. He was also engraver, painter in watercolours and pastellist. Some see in him equal of Toulouse-Lautrec.
