HANOTEAU Hector Charles Auguste (1823-1890)
French painter 19th century
Born 25 May 1823 in Decize (Nièvres)
Died 1890 in Briet

Painter of genre scènes, nudes, portraits, lively landscapes, warescapes.

He was taught by Jean-François Giroux at the Beaux-Arts de Paris school.
He took part to the Salon de Paris from 1847 to 1882.
He was made Chevalier of the Légion d’Honneur in 1870.
He specially painted gardens, parks, woods and ponds.
He also brought many drawings from his trip in Algeria in 1854-1855.
