DESHAYES Eugène François A. (1868 – 1939)

Born 1868 in Algiers ; Died 1939 in Algiers

Eugène Deshaye was inspired by his travels in North Africa, Corsica and the Balearic Islands and painted landscapes in luminous coloours, encampments, caravans of people, gardens full of flowers, and views of Algiers. He alson occasionally painted landscapes of Ile de France and Provence.

EXHIBITIONS :
He took part in the Salon of Paris between 1894 and 1907.
In 2003, as part of ‘Djazaïr, une année de l’Algérie en France, he featured in two exhibitions :
- « Painters from the other shore, Algiers 1830-1930 » (Cannes Museum)
- « Luminous Algeria through the eyes of seascape painters » (Marine Museum – Toulon)
